File Links

Welcome to the File Links section of Heyy.li — your organized little library for all your shared files and attachments. The File Links tool is where all your uploaded or attached files are stored neatly in one place. Think of it as your digital locker — no more scrolling through endless links or forgotten files!

File Link Button (Top-Right)

Click this File link button to create a new file link. It’s your gateway to uploading and sharing documents, images, and more — easily and professionally.

Download Button

This allows you to download your file links in bulk (when available). Perfect for saving a copy for yourself or for offline use.

Filter Button

Use the filter icon to refine your list. Want to see only PDFs? Or files shared last week? This button is your best friend.

If you see the message:

No filtered data found

It means your filters are a bit too picky. But don’t worry! Just click the “Clear filters” button to reset and start fresh.

Pro Tips

  • Always name your files clearly when uploading — it makes sorting and searching way easier later.

  • Don’t forget to use the filter tool to manage dozens of file links.

  • If something’s missing, check if a filter is still applied — that’s usually the culprit!

Create a File

Time to link a file! Click on and heyy launches an easy-to-use popup box for you!

Click Choose File to choose and upload a file to your servers! Your files can be in .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .gif, .webp, .avif, .pdf, .zip, .rar, .doc, .docx with a maximum size of 2MB! Create a short URL of your choice or leave blank to let us create a random link.

Once you are sure of everything, click Create File URL and et voila!

Now let’s move on to updating your upload further.

Your File Link Overview

(Once you upload your file) Your link is:
This is your unique, shortened URL (e.g., heyy.li/zn6fhy0). You can copy it and share it anywhere. It could be a randomly generated one, or one aligned with your brand.

Green Dot (Active Status):
This means your link is live and working.

Top Menu (Right Corner):

  • Edit: Go back to tweak settings.

  • Statistics: View how many clicks you’ve gotten and other data.

  • Create QR: Instantly generate a QR code for your link.

  • Duplicate: Clone this setup for a new file link.

  • Reset: Revert to default settings.

  • Delete: Remove the link permanently.

Short URL Customization

Edit the URL ending (e.g., zn6fhy0) if you want something branded or memorable.
Leave it blank for a random code.

Force Download (Optional)

Toggle this on if you want the file to download immediately—no preview. Especially useful for PDFs, images, or zips.

Pixels (Advanced Marketing Tool)

This lets you add tracking pixels (like Facebook or Google Ads) to gather visitor data. Click Create Pixel to integrate third-party tracking. Skip this if you're not into digital marketing or retargeting.

Temporary URL Features

  • Schedule:
Turn this on to decide when the link becomes active. You can set specific dates and times.

  • Clicks Limit:
Add a number here to restrict how many times your link can be clicked. Great for limited offers, private file access, or exclusive events.

  • Expiration URL:
Add a backup destination. Once the main link expires (via time or click limit), users will be redirected here.

Protection

  • Password:
Add a password if you want only authorized users to access the link.

  • Sensitive Content Warning:
Toggle this on if your file may include material that not everyone should access without warning. Users will have to confirm they want to continue.

Advanced Settings

  • Weekly Email Reports:
Turn this on to get analytics updates right in your inbox. Simple, clean summaries—no technical jargon.

  • Create Notification Handler:
Set up custom notifications if you're tracking specific file events. This is optional and suited for advanced users.

Project Assignment

  • Use this to organize your file links into projects or campaigns.
If you're managing multiple links for different purposes (e.g., client folders, product docs), this keeps everything neat.

  • Click Create Project to get started if you haven’t already.

After making changes, hit Update to save everything. If you navigate away before clicking this, your changes won’t stick—so don’t forget!
