Triggers

It's your playground to define when, how often, and under what conditions your users should see your notification. Let’s walk through each section, shall we?

Choose what triggers your notification from the dropdown to finish setup!

How Notification Triggers Work

These terms help set the rules for when a notification should fire based on what’s in your content. Think of them as filters - they make sure you only get alerts when it really matters.

  • Contains: Fires if the content has a specific word or phrase.
Example: Send a notification if the message includes "urgent."

  • Exact match: Only fires if the content matches exactly—no extra words or variations.
Example: Notify me only if the message says exactly "Alert: System Down."

  • Does not match exact: Fires if the content isn’t an exact match.
Example: Notify me unless the message is exactly "No issues."

  • Does not contain: Fires if the content is missing a certain word or phrase.
Example: Alert me if the message doesn’t have "resolved."

  • Starts with: Fires if the content begins with a specific word or phrase.
Example: Notify me if the message starts with "Warning:"

  • Does not start with: Fires if the content doesn’t begin with a certain word or phrase.
Example: Alert me unless the message starts with "Status: OK."

  • Ends with: Fires if the content wraps up with a specific word or phrase.
Example: Notify me if the message ends with "action required."

  • Does not end with: Fires if the content doesn’t finish with a certain word or phrase.
Example: Alert me unless the message ends with "end of report."

  • Page contains: Fires if a webpage includes specific text or elements.
Example: Notify me if the webpage has "Outage Alert."

These rules help keep your notifications on point - so you only get the alerts you actually need.

Display Trigger

This is where you pick the condition(s) that must be met before your notification appears. Choose one or multiple triggers to get super precise!

  • Delay: Wait a few seconds before popping up. Great for giving users a moment to settle in!

  • Time on site: Only show the notification after the user has spent a specific time on your site.

  • Page inactivity: Perfect for re-engaging users who’ve stopped moving their mouse or scrolling.

  • Pageviews: Set the number of pages a user must view before the notification shows. In the image, it’s set to 2.

  • Exit Intent: Trigger a message when the user’s about to leave the page – a last-minute nudge!

  • Page scroll: Reveal the notification only after the user scrolls a certain percentage of the page.

  • Mouse click: React to a user clicking anywhere – ideal for interactive content.

  • Mouse hover: Display the notification when they hover over a particular section – subtle and smart.

Display Frequency

Choose how often your users will see this notification:

  • All the time: The notification shows every time the trigger condition is met. Relentless (in a good way)!

  • Once per session: It’ll only show once until the user closes and reopens the browser/tab.

  • Once per browser: Like a polite guest – shows up only once for that browser, ever.

Display Delay Type After Closing the Notification

What happens if the user closes the notification? Decide how long before it can reappear:

  • Time on site: Wait a set number of seconds before displaying it again. In this case, it’s a hefty 21,600 seconds (6 hours!).

  • Pageviews: Trigger it again only after the user visits more pages.

Schedule

Turn on this option to control when the notification can be shown — perfect for timed campaigns or promotions.

  • Start Date & Time: The moment the notification becomes eligible to appear.

  • End Date & Time: When it stops showing. In this image, both are set to May 20, 2025, at 15:15:18 — so this one’s got a narrow window!
